Native American Indian Sacred Hoop Art. I have long been fascinated by the Native American culture. Maybe it’s the living off the earth and a more simple lifestyle that I find attractive. Native American spirituality is a deep interest of mine. I love the ceremony and traditions of indigenous peoples.
I live in western South Dakota. I moved to the Black Hills for several reasons, one of them being Native American culture here is more prevalent than in eastern South Dakota. I would like to study more about the Native American tribes in this region.
Native American Indian Sacred Hoop Art
When I created this Native American Indian Sacred Hoop art, I wanted a Scared Hoop that was different. There are many beautiful versions of the of the Sacred Hoop. I’ve seen hoops with a center “X” dividing the four parts, circle hoops and hoops with feathers. Some Sacred Hoops have animals included.
The Scared Hoop is another name for the Medicine Wheel. The Sacred Hoop is one of the most revered icons. The four directions, Mother Earth, Father Sky and the circle of life are represented in the Scared Hoop. The four colors: red, yellow, white and black represent the human race in some Native cultures.
The Native American Indian Sacred Hoop Fine Art is comprised of a divided circle in white, yellow, red and black colors. The hoop is raised off of the background. A texture overlay creates a unique feel to this Native American inspired art. An original Sacred Hoop fine art for seekers of Native American art.
